As of January 2020 the California Consumer Privacy Act goes into effect requiring a number of measures to be implemented on websites doing business with California residents.

The Act requires certain entities publishing websites to manage personal information collected from California consumers such that the consumer has control of the information including the power to restrict the collection of personal data, require the removal of such information, and access to any such information that has been collected in the previous 12 months.
